It could be seen that Greek mythology, has a specific dominance over romance since many legends. whether the romance between the two is acceptable or not is of course another question.
there is also a story, a story about a goddess, who fell in love with a shepherd. The goddess of moon Selene (also known as Cynthia) the story entwined around her could be said to have embraced, this softness. Goddess of the moon, Selene,
one of the most loving stories I have ever read, everyone has their own priority, choice of favoritism, and sense of entertainment,
but is mine one, this is a mythology of Greek and Roman. happens nothing, the thing you like whether exists or not. it doesn’t make any sense in love, as some have said “everything is fair in love and war”
we take it as the mythology of Greece and Rome because we don’t believe in it, as they think our religions are myths to them because they don’t believe in this, and this was their religion, they believe in it.
the moon is ruled by the titan goddess Selene, daughter to the Titan Hyperion and Thea, like her brother Helios “the Sun-god” who drives his sun chariot across the sky each day, and Selene drives a moon chariot across heaven,
In Greek mythology, there are three main goddesses identified with the moon, Selene, Artemis, and Hecate but only Selene was regarded as the personification of the moon.
selene the moon goddess, came out at night to light up the world, while Helios the Sun god was sleeping, she loved to visit mount Latmus which belonged to her. it was her influence that made everything there so quiet and beautiful, that seemed to be in another world.
one night moon goddess drove her milk-white chariot across the sky and saw a young shepherd whose name was Endymion,
Endymion was a mortal, shepherd, on mount Latmus in Greece who spent his life in perpetual sleep, he was so handsome, like flowers on the mountains or as the swan floating in the lake nearby, with their heads tucked under their wings.
one day Endymion led his flocks high up on the sides of the Mountain and let them browse on the rich pasturage along the margins of its snow-fed streams.
she watched him all night, he was so handsome that the goddess immediately fell in love with him. therefore she stayed by his flocks and watch all night.
she came the next night and night, for many nights to gaze at the sleeper and watched the unguarded flock. she asked his father to let her marry him, but her father refused her stating that he is a mortal and you are an immortal goddess. goddess can’t marry a mortal shepherd. one morning when she turned back to the sky. she looked so pale from her watching that Jupiter asked her where she had been, and she described the beautiful shepherd she had found on the mountain and confessed that she had been guarding his sheep and gazing him.
she told him that she has fallen in love with him, and asked her father to let her marry him, she feels a deep love for him. since Endymion is very beautiful he might always look as if she had seen him in his sleep, instead of growing old as other mortals must. Jupiter said here you can be in love forever, “Even the gods cannot give to mortals everlasting youth and beauty without giving them also everlasting sleep but Endymion shall sleep forever and be forever young.”
she requested Zeus to spell magic and put him in the enteral sleep cave of mount Latmus.
she used to come every night and spending her all night gazing at him for so long. The love of Selene toward Endymion proves that beauty never dies, it last forever, if you have loved, your heart never lets you find flaws in a beloved person. Your inner start endures his mistake, misbehave, and ignorances, his/her ups, and downs. no matter whether they are beautiful or ugly, white or black, tall or short, fatty or slim. The beauty of a beloved person last in your heart until and unless you breathe in a worldly place. before falling in love, heart doesn’t think that whether to be this person till the last breath is my destiny or not.
